Mohammed Metteden  - EVP Upstream 

Mohammed Metteden is a Petroleum Engineer and Economist with over a decade of experience in both technical and leadership capacities.  Mohammed is a graduate of Northeastern University (Bsc. Chemical Engineering) Colorado School of Mines (Msc. Mineral and Energy Economics) and IFP School (Msc. Petroleum Economics & Management).

Mohammed has participated in major asset acquisition projects including the Conoco Philps divestments of OMLs 60-63 and the SPDC JV divestment of OML 18 in Nigeria with a book value of over $2 Billion combined. In addition to acreage divestment/acquisisions, he has also played a significant role in the development and monetization of Gas reserves within the Niger Delta in line with the NNPC's 7 critical Gas Development project. Mohammed has worked with various multinationals and indigenous operators engaged in joint ventures, PSCls and marginal fields within the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector. Mohammed also holds several certifications and proficiencies in well-control, nodal analysis, decision and efficiency analysis, project and upstream mangement.

Yusuf Aliyu  - EVP Midstream
Yusuf is the Chief Executive Officer of Newbury. Yusuf is a remarkable Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineer with international oil and gas experience drawn from multiple continents. His knowledge of Hydraulic fracturing diagnostics and Artificial LIft systems began with a career in the Gulf of Mexico as a logging engineer with Epoch Well Services.

Yusuf was then recruited by Pinnacle Technologies in Denver, USA as a project manager to lead their micro-seismic mapping operations. He has shared this knowledge and experience through - industry collaborations, contribution, and co-authoring of papers such as "Bigger is Better" - Hydraulic Fracturing in the Williams Fork Formation, at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) annual convention, 2009,

Yusuf held other Senior Technical Positions, subsequently relocated back to Nigeria to complete his mandatory service, after which he joined OER.  During his time at OER the company went from a marginal producer of about five thousand barrels of oil per day to becoming an independent producer of over fifty thousand barrels of oil per day.  Yusuf brings his expertise to our operations.  He has a strong passion for practical innovation and a proven record as a change agent and a re-engineering/turnaround specialist.

 

Oriteme Banigo - EVP Advisory

Oriteme is a dynamic and seasoned entrepreneur with over 15 years of diverse experience in the Oil and Gas industry. His leadership has been put to the test in the sectors of Finance, Agriculture, and Entertainment.​

​

His influence extends to both the public and private sectors. Serving as the Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State Petroleum on Nigerian Content, he has played a pivotal role in advancing local participation in the Oil and Gas industry. His extensive industry knowledge and global relationships contribute significantly to our success.​

​

As the Director/COO of Kuzad Nigeria Ltd, Oriteme formulated and successfully implemented company policies, monitored operational positions against plans, and facilitated strategic acquisitions. His strategic vision has been a driving force behind the growth of our Bitumen and Heavy Fuel business.​

​​

Serving as a Manager on the Oil and Gas trading desk at United Bank of Africa, he was able to gain industry exposure to better serve its customers like Aiteo, Mobil, Total, Vittol and AMG. He was involved in pivotal financial deals that impacted the domestic Oil and Gas Industry.​

​

Oriteme is not only a business leader but also a community leader and serves in different roles in his community of Okpoama, Brass Bayelsa State. He is an advisor to the Host Communities and is also a key member of the Oil and Gas/PIA implementation committee. These roles have enabled him to directly influence the Oil and Gas industry’s effects on his community.

Dayo Okusami - Non Executive Director
Dayo Okusami is a director at Newbury and an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer and is currently a Partner at TEMPLARS, one of the largest law firms in Nigeria. He previously worked as General Counsel and Company Secretary at an upstream oil and gas company where he had oversight over the legal, procurement and corporate communications functions.

Dayo also worked as an Executive Director at a Marine Services Company where he was in charge of the commercial and business development functions. 
He is a graduate of the University of Jos where he obtained his Law Degree and the University of London where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Corporate
and Commercial Law.


Justin Inniss - Non Executive Director

Justin is a director at Newbury and experienced financial service executive. He is currently the head of client relationships and a director of wealth management at Signet Global. Until recently, Justin was the founder and partner of Inova Capital which is a Swiss based commercial multi - family office investment platform.

 

Justin serves as the Co - CEO of JMR Global Resources and is responsible for the strategic direction of the business and forging international partnerships for the company. Previously Justin was a founder and Managing Director for a Sovereign backed family office in Dubai. Justin served as the Managing Principal of Inniss Asset Management (IAM), a capital markets advisory firm focused on facilitating real estate, energy and infrastructure related investment opportunities in emerging markets.

 

Prior to venturing out on his own, Justin worked in financial services and is multi-disciplined in Institutional sales trading, fixed income, and technology and telecom investment banking, options, portfolio and wealth management. Justin spends his time covering the EMEA and East Asia regions in a consulting capacity to energy and industry concerns owned by sovereigns and legacy families.Justin holds a B.A. from St. John’s University. Justin has dual nationality (Trinidad and Tobago and the United States).

Tom Ogboi -  Member Board of Directors

Mr Tom Okwuehi Ogboi is a board member of Newbury. Tom attended Yaba College of Technology, University of Lagos, Enugu State University of Science and Technology and is also an Alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School. He holds an MBA and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Management, Nigeria Computer Society and Risk Management Society of Nigeria.

​

He started his working career with the United Nigeria Insurance Company Plc which later became UNIC Insurance Plc where he rose to become Acting Managing Director before retiring in December 2002. He had his professional Insurance and Risk Management training with the Commercial Union Assurance Plc London now known as Aviva Insurance Plc London. He represented the Nigerian Insurance industry in various international fora in many continents of the world.

​

After retirement, he established the EHI Consulting Ltd, a firm that specializes in Insurance and Risk Management Consulting and Advisory for the Oil and Gas Sector. During his career, he was the first to work on a number of projects in E&P for the Insurance Industry and has worked on the following : Bonga, Erha, Yoho, Amenam Kpono, Satellite Fields, Akpo, Usan, EGTL, FYIP and many others.He is the leading authority in E&P Insurance and Risk Management in Nigeria. He has also established a well-grounded reputation in the International Insurance Market.
